Book
your wedding, party or fundraiser with me as soon as possible. Most
people go for saturday night dances so dates fill up fast. Up to one
year ahead will guarantee your
chosen date!
Follow my tips for 'planning a ceilidh'
then decide on what type of feel or 'flavour' you want from your dance.
You may have something very specific in mind or you could choose from
the following 3 themes:-
- Traditional English ceilidh
- traditional English/Folk tunes played on a whole range of instuments
from the traditional piano accordion to saxophone and electric guitar!
Dances are all either traditional, modern or adaptations and are fun, lively, easy dances for novices.
Think more 'Jig at Glastonbury' than Country Dancing in the playground. Its teeshirts and trainers, fun not footwork.
- Scottish
ceilidh (great for Burn's night and Hogmanay) - Scottish and Irish
tunes played on traditional accoustic instruments, with the odd pipe or
whistle thrown in!
Traditional Scottish dances that have stood the test of time. All fun, easy dances for novices.
Think 'Bagpipes on speed' - Billy Connolly tee-shirts rather than
tartan kilts and socks (though wear them if you have them!). Flashdance
more than Riverdance.
- American Hoe-down - plenty of fiddle and guitar here. Fast paced music that keeps your feet moving through the sawdust!
A mix of fun, easy and lively dances suitable for all.
Think plaid shirts and stetsons. Cotton-eye Joe is in town.
