Costs

It isn’t possible to provide an absolute price list as the final booking fee will be determined by several factors including:-

- Location
- Type of music
- Special requirements and equipment (lighting, marquees etc.)

CD Music

For calling a dance to recorded music my booking fee starts at £225 based on a typical CD ceilidh. This price includes the PA sound system and all the dance music regardless of how long the dance lasts for. Events outside Kent, Surrey and Sussex (including Greater London) will cost more in order to cover travel expenses. I don’t charge a booking fee but please have cash payment ready on arrival before the event. See also my 'CD music' section.

Band Music

The cost of hiring a band varies greatly but is usually calculated on the number of musicians rather than the length of the event (bands charge per event not per hour). Each musician will cost approximately £120-£150 plus the same amount for the caller. Some bands may charge a booking fee. Again, please have cash payment ready at the beginning of the event. See also my 'Band Music' section.

I am always happy to discuss costs with you together with any personal musical requirements. I can also organise extra items to complete the ceilidh package including:-

- Marquees
- Lighting rigs
- Portable bar
- Catering/hog roast
- Portable toilets

Additional Information

- I hold the relevant Public Performance Licence to play recorded music at dances.

- I am a member of the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) and hold third party liability cover through them.
